Audio Voltage / Legal
Privacy policy.
How your information is used when you browse, shop, download or get in touch.
01Who handles your information
Audio Voltage operates this website and handles the personal information used to provide your account, downloads, newsletter and customer support. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, use our support form.
FastSpring is the authorised reseller for purchases completed through its checkout and is separately responsible for its payment, billing and fraud-prevention processing. Its applicable entity and terms are identified at checkout and on your receipt.
02Visiting the website
When you open a page or play a preview, technical information such as your IP address, requested resource, time, browser and device information is processed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Hosting, content delivery and security services include Kinsta, Cloudflare, Amazon Web Services for media delivery, and Wordfence.
The purpose is reliable delivery, diagnosis of faults and protection against abuse. Where this processing is necessary for these purposes, our legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information needed to provide a service you request may also be processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
03Accounts, orders and downloads
Registration and account management involve your name, username, email address, password credentials and account status. We process order references, purchased products, transaction status and download records to provide your library, authenticate access, resolve order issues and prevent duplicate purchases.
WordPress, Easy Digital Downloads and WPForms support these functions on our website. Required account and order information is processed to fulfil your request or contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Records required by tax or accounting law are processed under Article 6(1)(c). Security and misuse prevention rely on Article 6(1)(f).
For a free download, the email address you provide is used to deliver access and associate the download with the relevant customer record. Requesting a download does not itself constitute consent to receive marketing emails. Without the required information, we may be unable to create your account or provide the requested download.
04Prices and payments with FastSpring
FastSpring is used on shopping pages to display local currency and tax-inclusive prices and to complete purchases. This can involve IP address and approximate location, browser information, cart contents and session identifiers. Checkout also processes the contact, billing, tax and payment information needed for your order.
We receive the order and customer information needed to deliver your products, maintain your library and provide support. Enter payment details only in the checkout; do not send them through our support form.
Our order processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and applicable record-keeping duties. FastSpring explains its own purposes, legal bases and recipients in its privacy and legal notices.
05Support and newsletter
When you contact us, we process your contact details, message and any information you choose to include so we can respond. Pre-purchase and order-related enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries under our legitimate interest in answering messages, Article 6(1)(f).
We use Brevo to manage newsletter subscriptions and deliver email communications. For the newsletter, we process your email address, any optional details you supply, and subscription or consent records. Marketing subscriptions are voluntary and based on consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing or essential messages concerning your orders or account. See Brevo’s privacy policy for information about the provider.
07Videos, fonts and form protection
Embedded YouTube videos are provided by Google. Loading a video can transmit your IP address, browser information and viewing-related data to Google; if you are signed in to a Google account, Google may associate that activity with your account. The consent controls let you decide whether to load these videos.
Google reCAPTCHA is used for form protection where shown. It can analyse technical and interaction data to distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse. Where Google Fonts are retrieved directly from Google rather than served locally, your browser also sends technical connection information to Google. Consult the corresponding service entries in the cookie settings and Google’s privacy policy.
External links open services governed by their providers’ own privacy information. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Ads, embedded Google Maps or Vimeo on this site.
08Recipients and international processing
Information is made available to service providers involved in hosting, security, email, payments and delivery to the extent needed for their functions. It may also need to be disclosed to advisers or public authorities where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Some providers operate internationally, including in the United States. Processing outside the European Economic Area can be subject to different laws. International transfers must meet the GDPR’s requirements, for example through an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data; the providers’ privacy notices also describe their international processing.
09How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose and any legal obligations. Account information is kept while needed to maintain your account and download access. Support records are kept while needed to resolve your request and deal with related claims. Newsletter information is used until you unsubscribe; limited evidence of consent or an unsubscribe instruction may be retained where necessary to document compliance and honour your choice.
Order and accounting records may have to remain available for statutory retention periods even after an account is deleted. Technical logs and consent records are kept according to their security, operational or evidential purpose. When the relevant purpose and any required retention period end, the data is deleted or anonymised.
10Your data protection rights
Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out lawfully before withdrawal. To make a request, contact Audio Voltage. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you live or work, or where you consider an infringement has occurred.
11Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the website, our services or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Reading or continuing to use the website does not replace consent where consent is legally required.
